I am Dr. Ana Medina

Medical Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist and Biblical Counselor.
Specialist in Children and Adolescents

My commitment is to give you all my knowledge

Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

Psychiatry is the medical specialty for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment
of mental illnesses.

Psychotherapy is the prevention and treatment of emotional ailments, without the use of medications. It is dedicated to teaching psychological techniques that promote personal development.

The integration of scientific advances in mental health and Christian theology
provides a comprehensive balance for the emotional, cognitive, and spiritual
well-being of the human being.

A Christian Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist has a responsibility before God to serve with integrity and excellence.

Biblical Counseling

It consists of the close accompaniment of the believer in the journey of life. It is
done with the use of Scripture and Prayer under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Biblical counseling uses Christian theology. Its principles favor the affirmation of hope in Christ. The change is given by the Holy Spirit through a personal relationship with Jesus. God himself is the only one capable of changing the “heart” of the human being.

A Biblical Counselor is another human being with imperfections who looks to
the Holy Spirit to guide others. A Counselor is called to do his best in everything to glorify God.

How does it benefit me?

The integration of Psychiatry, psychotherapy and Biblical counseling provide tools in emotional health revised in the light of the ancient knowledge of Christian wisdom.

Do I need to be a Christian to make an appointment?
No. My service is open to anyone of any philosophical, spiritual, or religious orientation.
May I ask that nothing spiritual be talked about?
Of course. I am committed to being respectful of your beliefs and asking for your written permission before mentioning Christ or using Biblical Scripture. The spiritual guidance of a minor is the responsibility of their parents or caregivers.
Will you prescribe medication?
My orientation is towards therapy, I have no interest in prescribing drugs. In minors, formulating is a last resort. If that exception is necessary, I only recommend it and it is the family who decides. Not wanting a medication is not a cause for discontinuing therapy.
Who decides if I no longer need treatment?
Treatment is usually terminated by mutual agreement when the proposed objectives and goals have been met.

Who am I?

I am an empathetic, idealistic, and warm person. I enjoy time alone and in community or family. I feel that God enables me to serve others and make a positive impact in the lives of everyone around me. I am passionate about cultivating my garden, planting, and reproducing plants. I have been happily married for 22 years, and we have a teenage daughter and son. We had a Beagle dog and now we have a Terrier. I love animals and walk daily observing nature. I enjoy historical places and learning about the development of societies in different parts of the world. My life belongs to Christ, meditating on the Bible and praying motivates me every day. For this reason, the logo on this page is a drop of water, and the C is Christ who sustains me (AM). I am only an instrument in the hands of the Creator and to Him I give all adoration.

Favorite Verses

Every time I think of you, I thank my God. Whenever I pray, I pray for all of you with joy, because you have collaborated with me in spreading the Good News about Christ from the moment you first heard it until now. And I am sure that God, who began the good work in you, will continue it until it is completely finished on the day that Jesus Christ returns.

Philippians 1: 3-6 NLT

All Scripture is inspired by God, and useful to teach, to convict, to correct, to instruct in Justice, so that the man of God may be perfect, fully prepared for every good work.

2 Timothy 3: 16-17 KJV

Beloved, I ask God that you are very well, and I also ask that everything you do goes well, and that you have good health.

3 John verse 2 TLA

Certainly he bore our diseases and endured our pains, but we consider him hurt, beaten by God, and humiliated. He was pierced for our transgressions, and crushed for our iniquities; On him the punishment fell, the price of our peace, and thanks to his wounds we were healed.

Isaiah 53:4-5 NIV
